YAKIMA — Yakima Valley Memorial's Ambulatory Endoscopy Clinic (AEC) has been serving patients at Yakima Gastroenterology Associates at 3909 Creekside Loop in Yakima for many years. At the height of the delta surge this summer, the AEC was closed as we redeployed staff to the hospital to take care of patients.

Procedures performed at the AEC, such as upper endoscopies and colonoscopies, were relocated to the acute care hospital where they could be supported by operating room staff.

This gave us the opportunity to review how and where we offer these services. After carefully considering the best way we can offer these procedures in a safe, sustainable, high quality manner, Memorial decided to continue performing these procedures at the hospital while modifying the Ridgeview ambulatory surgery center at 2500 Racquet Lane in Yakima, which will also take on some of these cases in early 2022.

Memorial will close the AEC permanently and align our procedural teams in care settings that provide the best options for patients based on their care needs and preferences.

Yakima Gastroenterology Associates will remain open and patients will continue to be able to see their regular gastroenterologists at their current location at Creekside Loop.
