Community COVID-19 Test Site New Location Map »

YAKIMA — The community COVID-19 test site operated by Yakima Valley Memorial, Signal Health, and UW Medicine is moving to the east parking lot of the former Orthopedics Northwest clinic at 1211 N 16th Avenue in Yakima. The new location will open on August 23, 2022.

We’d like to express our gratitude to Yakima Valley College for allowing us to offer testing in the YVC parking lot for the last year, but the college needs its parking lot back to accommodate students. We are also grateful that our partner, UW Medicine, has extended its contract to help Memorial provide this crucial service to the community, which aligns with our vision of creating healthy communities one person at a time.

COVID-19 testing continues to remain an important strategy to control the spread of Covid-19. Testing, along with vaccinations and boosters, and when necessary, social distancing and masks, provide the means to limit the spread. As we head into the fall/winter we anticipate the emergence of new variants and increases in cases typical of that time of year.

“COVID-19 continues to be a part of our lives and the need for low-barrier and easily accessible community testing has not gone away. Community testing ensures people can quickly determine if they are infected and take measures to prevent the spread to others,” says Michael Vachon, test site supervisor. This community test site will remain the only one between Richland and Seattle.

COVID-19 testing is open to anyone with symptoms, or anyone who has been exposed or is concerned about exposure. Tests can be performed on infants as young as 3 months and results are generally available the day after testing. These are PCR tests and the patients swab themselves following instructions from the testing staff.

The new site is a walk-up clinic, where you park and walk up to the test tent site, located in the east parking lot of the former Orthopedics Northwest clinic at 1211 N 16th Avenue. For those unable to leave their vehicles, there are ADA parking signs in the patient parking lot with the phone number. When called, staff will come out to cars to do the test. COVID-19 testing is available Tuesday through Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

We strongly encourage appointments, but can accommodate walk-ins. You can pre-register at The test is free of charge and open to everyone, with or without identification. We do not check immigration status, ever.
Spanish-speaking staff are available for translation.
