YouthWorks

YouthWorks is a program designed for students age 14 and older seeking to get involved with a variety of opportunities geared toward young people who are interested in volunteering in our community. YouthWorks is a youth empowerment and community service initiative that engages civic and service-minded young people in a variety of mentoring, volunteering and philanthropy opportunities.

YouthWorks Council

The Memorial Foundation YouthWorks Council represent YouthWorks programs included in the YouthWorks initative; creating advocates who are empowered to better the future of healthcare for our community. The YouthWorks Council advise, allocate and take action in making a difference in the future of healthcare programs for youth in our community.

Mentoring

Kids helping other kids is what Memorial’s Village Volunteers program is all about. Students 13 years and older help mentor kids with special health care needs at Children’s Village, and in the process promote community awareness.

Volunteering

Students 14 years and older can serve as Youth volunteers in a variety of hospital areas and programs to complete their community service requirements while making new friends and gaining hands-on knowledge of the health care services field. The Job Shadows program provides high school students with opportunities to shadow Memorial staff members for up to eight hours.

Philanthropy

Memorial’s Youth fundraising program is designed to empower young people in the Yakima Valley to use their ideas, talents and sweat equity to raise funds for local projects supporting children with special health care needs. When groups of all ages Team-Up, great things happen. Team-Up encourages all kids to support Memorial and The Memorial Foundation through one-time service and fundraising projects.
