On May 1, 2010 Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital converted to a new patient billing system. The previous system was outdated, not user friendly, and could not be matched with our new electronic medical record needs.
The new, up-to-date system, manufactured by Siemens Healthcare, will integrate with a clinical record-keeping system and help us move towards meeting new requirements for keeping electronic medical records.
We ask for your patience as we work through the initial steps of this billing conversion. Although we have been testing the system for months, some problems could happen (hopefully minor). For instance, registration may initially take a little longer, since new patient accounts will need to be developed. However, once you are entered into the system, we will be able to access your account and expedite registration for future hospital visits.
If you or your guarantor feel that your statement is in error or if there are any questions WHATSOEVER with the new billing process, we encourage you to call us or visit us. We are right here in Yakima. Account representatives have been assigned to specific accounts to help better accommodate our patients. Questions can be directed to Memorial's Business Office at (509) 575-8255.
