Why Volunteer

Volunteers are the cornerstone of Memorial. It was auxiliary members who initiated fundraising in 1948 to meet our community's need for a new hospital. Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital opened its doors June 20, 1950 and today, 60 years strong, volunteers continue to support our staff, patients and visitors, and enhance our achievement of excellence in healthcare.

Volunteer service brings countless rewards.

  • Meet new people and make new friends

  • Give back to the community
